The Fellowship saga continues with Jamie and Ellison's story in this standalone spinoff of The Sin Trilogy.

I’m a doctor. Mobster. Killer.
My hands are covered in filth. I don’t have the right to touch anything as clean and pure as Ellison MacAllister.

I distance myself … always remaining obscure, composed, restrained.
Careful to never allow my eyes to linger too long.
Careful to hide my interest.
Careful to keep my burning desire buried beneath the surface.

I do it for her—suffer in silence—because it’s what is best for the woman I love.
And she has no idea.

She’ll be initiated as a Fellowship member soon. One of my mafia brothers will go through endurance so he’ll earn the right to claim her.
Make her his wife.
Kill. Me. Slowly.

I’m running out of time. Only a month remains before she’s beyond my reach forever.
I want to taste her. Share sleepless nights. Ride out her storm.
I want to give her the kind of nights she will still feel between her legs the next morning.
I want us to share the kind of passion that forms on our skin and drips down to saturate the sheets.
Between the sweat and the moans and the messy hair, I want her to know how hard she’s been loved.

To have her is to taint her.
I should stay away. But I won’t. I can’t.
I’m a selfish bastard.
A selfish bastard in love.

***Endurance is a STANDALONE novel. It is the first spinoff of The Fellowship world introduced in The Sin Trilogy A Necessary Sin, The Next Sin, One Last Sin.

Although Endurance may be read as a standalone, I recommend reading The Sin Trilogy first if you wish to have a full understanding of The Fellowship world. The choice is yours. (An ebook bundle set with all three books is available at a discounted price.)

Each Sin Series Standalone Novel will feature a different couple.

No cliffhanger.

Endurance A Sin Series Standalone Novel The Sin Trilogy Book 4 edition by Georgia Cates Literature Fiction eBooks

I give this book 3 and 1/2 stars. It's no secret how much I enjoyed the first 3 books in the sin series. I liked the authors style and how she created a the love story between Sin and Bleu. We also met Bleu's sister Ellison. I liked her because she has her own flare. Where Bleu was all about revenge and career driven Elli is soft, high maintenance with a wild streak. We also began to see the interest begin to develop between her and Jamie. I preordered this book patiently waiting. The beginning is great because there is that sexual tension between the two only Jamie wears his poker face leaving Ell questioning his interest. The girl is not shy with her questions about his take on a future bride and this leads us to the first steamy scene between the two when Jamie lets Ellison know exactly how attracted he is to her. Then the frustration for me starts to peek its head.

Jamie is described as an alpha and starts to demonstrate his awesomeness until his reasoning interferes and he pulls away. Prepare yourself because Jamie feels he isn't the right man for Ell. He is so obviously interested and the two share the medical background as he is a doctor for the fellowship and she is a nurse from the states. It's not only that but the two admit on several occasions that there is no other. My angst grew with each rejection and Sin has to introduce her to the fellowship to be claimed and Jamie stood back as countless men make their intentions known. Some like angst I get this but for me the scene on one page is Jamie taking control pushing her up against the wall with no appologies, which is hot, but then WAAAHHH I'm just a doctor and I can't protect her from the order. To me Sin was hot because he took no names and no one would dare touch his Bleu and that confidence was so sexy but for me Jamie was written like pu$$y. Sorry, but an alpha fights for his woman that's his appeal, he does not question rather or not he can protect her from the order or anyone else because as an alpha he bows to no ones rules! He is the rule!!

I flipped through some of the whining, sorry I just couldn't take the sulking and his inner dialogue about the men that were real men willing to claim her, and making comments like," He isn't right for my girl", WTF? Okay, but then it begins to pick back up as the man finally, gets a clue and before he can tell Ell the order opens fire on him and abducts not only Ell but Jamie's sister, Westlyn. Don't worry no one dies in this book. Keiran Hendry is the ring leader of this bold move but IMO I don't believe that he is as ruthless as he is portrayed. He and Westlyn get the next book as the order and fellowship have created a peace bargain of sorts. It takes away that dangerous edge that I have enjoyed throughout the series and with its possibility to end in the next book or so I fear it will ruin what is part of its attraction for me. Sin younger brother Mitch has agreed to marry the eldest Hendry's daughter as well as part of this treaty but apparently she is a bit of a stubborn soul and is rebelling a bit. Things I did enjoy were the Bleu and Sin as parents, the baby batter scene between Jamie and Ell, don't ask just read. One thing I think should have been mentioned was a phrase Sin used in the first three it is used in the fellowship to show seeing home in the others eyes, " Into me, you see." I thought it should have been explained if people read this as a stand alone, which it is. A person with that exception could easily start with this one, but why The first three are great? Enjoy!

Endurance A Sin Series Standalone Novel The Sin Trilogy Book 4 edition by Georgia Cates Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This is my first book by Georgia Cates but, by golly, it won't be the last.

I adored this book from the first deliciously-crafted word to the last. Although I haven't read the Sin Trilogy, I had no issue in picking up and understanding the plot, the world, or the characters and damn was that refreshing. A lot of times authors cite books as standalone that are building on characters introduced in other books or series and they turn out to be anything but standalone. I cite Endurance as a perfect example of how to write a spin-off book/series and not skimp on the character development. I didn't feel like I missed out on a thing by not having read the other series first and I applaud the author for the perfect execution of this story.

Jamie is the Fellowship's doctor so he largely avoids any front line action. It's an honorable role to everyone but his despicable mother and I understand his deceased father was unhappy with his life choice, too, having favored him for a leadership role. Jamie suffers under the weight of their disappointment/disapproval and subsequently doesn't feel like he is worthy of Ellison.

Ellison is crushing on Jamie big style but growing increasingly frustrated with his apparent lack of interest. When it becomes obvious that he's as into her as she is into him, she is exasperated at his unwillingness to step up and claim her. Jamie thinks he's doing the right thing because he believes one of his brothers can protect her better, even though the thought of anyone else claiming her is killing him. Ellison thinks he's being downright pig-headed and sets out to change his mind.

I loved both main characters and could relate to their perspectives. They were perfect together! A fantastic team - both personally and professionally. I really wanted to knock some sense into Jamie but I had faith that Ellison could pull it off successfully. Their chemistry was scorching hot and I was so rooting for this couple.

I loved Georgia's writing style and the pace was perfect - it was never overly described and there was no filler and no tendency to skim. It clipped along at a nice steady pace.

The plot was a little on the flimsy side at times but that didn't matter as the relationship was the main focus point and that was pure perfection on a page.

I enjoyed the world building and I'm definitely intrigued to know more. I also enjoyed the secondary characters.

All in all, this was a really great read and I look forward to reading more in this world in the future.

Thanks to Inkslinger PR for providing a free, advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
